Overview
A good food photo has two crucial elements: skill in the preparation & styling of the food, and photography know-how specific to this genre.
This workshop covers the essentials of styling including composition, use of colour & props, and how to prepare food for photography.
Alongside these styling principles is the understanding of how food is best photographed including lighting, angles, composition.
The two are interconnected so whether you have a stronger interest in styling or photography, you will benefit greatly from understanding both aspects.
On hand will be plenty of top quality ingredients and a large selection of props & surfaces from my extensive collection for hands-on sessions where you will plan, style & shoot your own images.
A working knowledge of your camera equipment is a prerequisite.
What else is included?
- Hot & cold drinks, morning tea, lunch
- Printed course notes for you to take home
- All materials & props for the practical sessions are included
- Registration fees
Note: workshops are currently created on demand – please contact me for more information or to register your interest
Testimonial
I was lucky enough to spend a day with Harriet learning about food styling and food photography.
The workshop exceeded my expectations, and I walked away with confidence and a newfound inspiration to take the photographs I need for my blog.
We covered so many topics including choosing the right props, food styling, composition, camera settings, editing and so much more!
I truly appreciated this experience and would recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their food styling and food photography.
Harriet is so approachable in her teachings but has such a wealth of knowledge and is so happy to share!
I will definitely be a repeat client!
